Capolavoro della scrittrice inglese che descrive i personaggi ed i paesaggi in modo sublime.Infanzia ,lavoro e sentimenti della protagonista sono l'essenza del libro...
"Jane Eyre è una bambina orfana che viene accolta presso i parenti dopo la morte dei genitori. In questa famiglia Jane è resa oggetto di continue vessazioni da parte di una fredda zia e anche da parte degli altri bambini della casa, suoi cugini. L'unica persona che la amava, suo zio, fratello di sua madre, è morto anni prima, e sua zia si trova costretta ad accudire la fanciulla perché tale era l'ultima promessa strappatale da suo marito prima di morire. Ma Jane Eyre è una ragazzina dal carattere forte e deciso e lo dimostra quando viene affidata ad una scuola di carità, dove l'austerità, il sacrificio ed il pesante lavoro erano la regola del giorno per le fanciulle senza famiglia".
